Future Plans For OneHourProfessor.com

As many of you know, I have a LOT of different projects going on at any given time.  My longest ongoing project is OneHourProfessor.com and that’s because it’s kind of been my internet “home base” of sorts.

Well, I’m not about to give up on One Hour Professor because it’s a great place for people to connect with me, but I’ve also realized that from a return on investment perspective, it’s the worst web property I have to generate income.

With that being said, today I wanted to give you an idea of where I am heading with the website and why I’ve been more quiet that usual.  Today’s post will cover the following:

  • My Mentality of One Hour Professor
  • What Doors The Website Has Opened For Me
  • What My Plans Are For The Future of OHP

My Mentality of One Hour Professor

Since I started this website, my goal was to provide a TON of free content that’s helpful for people.  It was never about making a ton of money, but it was all about helping people.

Even now as I write this blog post, this still holds true to being the main purpose of the website. However, as many of you who have followed me for a long time know, I have come a long way since I first started.

When I began this website, I had a full-time job and was just trying to get people to understand who I was in the online space. Although it took me quite a bit of time to figure out my voice for my blog and exactly what I wanted to focus on, experience has shown me that a lot of the information that I write about and share resonates well with many in my audience.

However, now I’m working for myself and I have to make sure that I can earn a living. In a way, this is going to change the One Hour Professor website but I think that it will change it to a better revenue-generating platform and something that I won’t mind spending a ton of time on.  In addition to that, I don’t anticipate these changes to have a negative impact either.

You may notice that in the last month I’ve been blogging less frequently on my website and aside from my Facebook group, I haven’t been all that active. That isn’t because I don’t enjoy writing about online business anymore, it’s quite the opposite.

What I’ve have realized about my website is there is no reason for me to push so hard to try to convince people to listen to me.  As of now, I have my JobsForFelonsHub website which makes me thousands of dollars every month and I made an awesome course while I built it because I felt strongly that I would be successful.

Astonishingly though, many of the people who take my free mini course don’t end up purchasing the full course which is offer at a discount of $20.  Why?  I’m really not too sure.

But I do know, when I’m making thousands of dollars from a completely passive income authority website, why would I focus a bunch of my time begging people to buy a $20 course?

Obviously, the answer is that I won’t and this is what has caused my change in focus.

What Doors The Website Has Opened For Me

As of now, the OHP website generates right around $200 to $300 each month. Nearly all of this is through affiliate sales and although in the beginning I thought I could make tens of thousands of dollars doing this, I’ve learned that it’s much harder than I anticipated.

With that being said, it isn’t like creating this website has been aa negative experience.

Because of this website, I’ve had many doors open for me professionally and a lot of great things that continue to contribute to my success. Below are some highlights:

  • Featured in multiple websites and podcasts
  • Connected with hundreds of awesome people and made friends along the way
  • Showcased my professional expertise to future employers (If I ever need to go that route)
  • Forged consulting relationships with people I’ve never met
  • Inspired people and helped them understand that it is possible to make a living on the internet
  • Helped people with their own projects, which has been my goal the entire time
  • Made a couple thousand dollars since I created the website

The truth is, this website has been an excellent place to connect with people and show them that I know what I’m talking about.

This is really important to me because the “make money online” space is crowded with a bunch of people who have no clue what the hell they’re doing and call themselves experts.

In addition to that, I’ve gotten numerous emails from people saying how great the website is and that they really enjoy my content.

Although this doesn’t make me any money, nor does it build my reputation on a large scale, it does validate all of my hard work and helps me remember that there are people out there who really appreciate what I’ve put into this website.

What My Plans Are For The Future of OHP

As I’ve said, this website definitely isn’t going to go away but I’m going to blog a little bit less and focus more on my other projects.

I intend on always creating a monthly income report as I think people like to follow along with the progress, but I want to make sure that I’m making enough money to not just survive in the future, but to thrive.

So, as of now my main focus is going to be to build out my new authority website (which I am not disclosing yet because I don’t want people to try to steal the idea) and build courses on Udemy that will also be featured on OHP.

When I have five courses created, I intend on offering mini courses that will eventually push people into a funnel to purchase the full course.  This has worked on a small scale with my current course, and I’m thinking that if I have five total courses on different subjects, one of those topics will resonate with individual people and they’ll take a mini course and eventually buy a full course.

From there, I intend on upselling people to take other courses or to possibly purchase a bundle of courses.  I’m not sure of the logistics on this yet, but the idea will be to create a bunch of courses that people need and then find a way to get them to purchase multiple courses.

Again, this website isn’t all about making money but at the same time I need to make sure that the OHP website continues to contribute to my income portfolio so that it makes sense work on. The only way to really do that is to increase the amount of revenue that it’s generating and I’m pretty sure that there courses will do the trick.

Right now I’m working on a course all about email marketing, and my next course is going to be focused on outsourcing. I haven’t thought further than that, but these two topics are frequently overlooked by online entrepreneurs and something that I know people need.

Once I get these things created and the finals constructed, I’m probably going to start running some Facebook ads to bring more people into my website so that they can learn who I am and all the content that I offer.

At the end of the day, I really do enjoy speaking with other online entrepreneurs and I’m hopeful that these courses will increase my credibility and popularity of my website for the future.

My income goal is to make $10,000 per month by the end of this year and the only way I’m ever going to get there is with hard decisions like this one.

What do you think of these plans?  Do you have any course ideas for me?
